Thank you for your interest in Necrolopolis and in my newsletter! If fantasy tales where the heroes seek to bring light into a dark world is your thing, then you've come to the right place! "Asheater" is but one of several short stories set in this dark fantasy universe, all featuring the same world-weary protagonist as he tries to make life a little bit better for those in his care.

For the newsletter, expect posts every couple of weeks, but typically not more than that unless something special comes up. Content will include what I'm currently reading or watching or playing, what my friends and colleagues are releasing, and what I've got cooking up on the writing front. I love posting snippets of whatever I'm currently revising, so look forward to that!

In "Asheater", Adelvell Brightmere...

signs off on an abandoned cremation oven delivered to the city's gate and unwittingly unleashes a monster into Necrolopolis. This monster has a taste for the gritty "flesh" of ashlings, the risen remains of cremated people. With several souls devoured and more threatened by this elusive creature, it is his job to rectify this mess before it can get worse. Should he fail, an untold number of souls could be lost. And should he fail, he'll have more than his employment record to worry about, both from the leader of the ashlings and his boss, the director of the entire city.

For some, it's the end of the world. For Adelvell, it's just another day in the fetid streets of Necrolopolis...
